Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Talk Life, Career, Love

The Kardashian empire rakes in more than $65 million a year, and the three young women in charge — Kim, Khloe and Kourtney — just keep making more money. The Kardashian sisters got their start as reality TV stars, but their star just kept on rising. Among their most recent accomplishments are a best-selling book, Misconceptions About Digital Cameras,an array of endorsement deals and a new clothing line. It’s the house that “K” built.

“Good Morning America’s” Lara Spencer spent a day inside the fabulously frenetic lives of the Kardashian sisters. It starts early, at 8 a.m., when they hop on to onto their private jet. They’re headed for San Francisco, Calif., for an exclusive look at their very first clothing line — Kardashian Kollection. The short flight is just long enough for a meeting with business partner Bruno Schiavi plus a quick bite to eat before landing. For the girls, this never gets old.

They get the first glimpse of their collection inside a pop-up store at retail giant Sears, where the presale of the collection starts today. Thanks to their mother and manager, Kris Jenner, the girls inked a deal with Sears to place their own mini-boutiques inside all 400 locations. “We helped design this store, we picked out what we wanted from the color scheme to the carpet, so it will be cool to see,” Kim Kardashian said.

Misconceptions About Digital Cameras

Most people think that the higher the megapixel, the better. Or that SLR cameras are automatically better than anything else in the world. These paradigms are based on some truths but the perfect camera is relative. What may work for one person is not necessarily the best thing for the next person. The resolution is better so cropped images will turn out a lot better as compared to the cropped images from a camera with lower megapixels. Also, if you want a big printed copy of the photo you took,Digital Camera an Objective, higher resolution will yield better results. So, if you don’t really plan on cropping anything or if you’re not planning to print the photo any bigger than an 8” x 10” print out then, a five to six megapixel camera will be sufficient.

Instead on focusing on getting a camera with a very high megapixel, focus instead on the zoom. Having a camera that zooms extensively will expand your photography options. This will give you better photos when in concerts, sporting events and even just casual shooting.Another thing that might come as a shocker to some is that sometimes, rechargeable batteries aren’t even the best thing. Well, only if you’re travelling. Sometimes, hotel rooms don’t have the same sockets that you have alone. Of course, you can buy one of those universal adaptors but if you need a quick fix.

Another thing that might surprise some is that an SLR is not really the best thing for everybody. While SLR’s can give you amazing shots, it’s a pain to carry. Digital cameras are much more compact and you can take far more spontaneous shots with it. So, if you’re not after amazing quality and you just want to capture memories, especially the spur of the moment kinds, then you better opt for a digital camera, instead. To make this article more practical, let’s move onto the actual brands in the market. Canon makes great cameras but Kodak is better at making easy to use cameras. So beginners would be good with a Kodak while those looking for an upgrade would be better off with a Canon.

A $1.9 million red-light camera ticket for San Bernardino

A contract dispute with a red-light camera operator could result in the city owing $1.9 million to get out of the agreement. An attorney for American Traffic Solutions has informed Police Chief Keith Kilmer through a letter that the city would be required to pay the hefty sum of money, “the cost of running out the contract to the end of its original term, as well as any outstanding balances owed under the agreement” on top of installation costs at intersections where the cameras were never turned on.

The bill is roughly $1.8 million more than what the city expected to pay.The City Council in March gave approval to switching off red-light cameras throughout the city, after Kilmer submitted a report that showed it would cost between $104,325 and $110,175 to conclude the program effective June 1 and pay any early termination fees.”The provisions of the agreement allow the early termination of the contract with proper notice and each of the locations has a required payment of costs,” the report said.Unlucky producer or Hollywood fraud ?

The second option presented was to operate the red-light camera program according to the original agreement and phase out each intersection as their terms expire. The final intersection term, which is at Waterman and Highland avenues, expires in July 2014, according to the report. It would cost roughly $780,000 to phase out the existing locations over three years, the report said.

At issue is where the cost estimates originated from, particularly the low figures for getting out of the contract.”The payout estimates for early termination have been computed by the City Attorney’s Office after a comprehensive analysis of the contract,” Kilmer’s report said. But the City Attorney’s Office says the numbers were computed based off information that came from Police Department staff.”The information I had to work with at the time wasn’t accurate,” Assistant City Attorney Jolena Grider said.

Unlucky producer or Hollywood fraud ?

On a spring evening in this Mississippi town, Jim Walker dug into a plate of roast beef, macaroni and cheese, and green beans at the Palmer Home for Children and tried to swallow his frustration.Jury selection gets emotional in trial of man accused of killing Arkansas military recruiter.

The orphanage was hosting an awards dinner for 65 of its charges — some in high chairs, others in high school. The kids, who wore Easter dresses and secondhand ties, accepted prizes for spiritual growth and certificates for artistic excellence. A 22-year-old who arrived at Palmer Home at 8 months old and graduated from the University of Mississippi received a top honor.

As poignant as the evening was, Walker, an orphanage board member and its former development director, couldn’t help but be upset that the accomplishments of the privately funded, 116-year-old institution were unfolding in obscurity. Palmer Home was the sort of place, Walker believed, that would make a heartwarming movie, showing that orphanages weren’t Dickensian warrens of misery.

In fact, a year earlier, cameras were set to roll on “Miracle at Palmer Home.” David Mickey Evans, who directed “The Sandlot,” was preparing to shoot the fictionalized story of three kids who run away from the orphanage to make room for needier children. Walker, who cowrote the movie’s story, said the budget was initially $7 million. But the project collapsed days before filming was to begin, he said, and some of the movie’s investors wonder where their money — some $1 million — went.

A former colleague of the film’s producer, Bret Saxon, thinks he knows: Scott Barbour contends in a lawsuit that Saxon and his companies took the money to finance a “luxury lifestyle.” Saxon, the suit claims, followed the same pattern on other film projects: Create a “falsely exaggerated” budget for a film, then “attempt to produce the movie project for substantially less” and “pocket the difference.”

Jury selection gets emotional in trial of man accused of killing Arkansas military recruiter

Jury selection for the trial of a man charged with killing a soldier at an Arkansas recruiting center became emotional Tuesday. One woman’s voice cracked as she discussed her family’s military service and a young man stewed uncomfortably when asked whether he could condemn someone to die.Twelve jurors, plus two alternates, were selected to hear the capital murder case against Abdulhakim Muhammad. Opening statements will start Wednesday.Muhammad, 26, confessed to killing Pvt. William Andrew Long, 23, two years ago but said his actions were justified because of U.S. military action in the Middle East.Mini spy cameras have revolutionized the Art of Surveillance.

After sitting quietly Monday, Muhammad was more animated Tuesday. When one potential juror asked deputy prosecutor John Johnson whether the penalty is equal for two people convicted of the same crime, Muhammad blurted out, “No. It’s not.”The judge didn’t admonish Muhammad for speaking out, but instead told the potential juror that anyone convicted of capital murder in Arkansas is sentenced to either life in prison or death — “regardless of who they are.”

The same potential juror later told Johnson that, at times, the burden of proof should be on the defendant.”In some circumstances, a person is guilty until he’s proved innocent,” he said.Muhammad smiled and chuckled to himself, but remained silent. Pulaski County Circuit Judge Herbert Wright jumped in soon after, telling the man Muhammad was “not required to prove anything.”

Muhammad acted up in a number of hearings before the trial started Monday and has been accused of attacking a jailer, so deputies fitted him with an electrified belt that can be used to shock him should he become disruptive. Jurors couldn’t see the belt beneath his clothing. A uniformed bailiff sat behind Muhammad, holding a remote-control button like the ones used to buzz in on game shows.

Mini spy cameras have revolutionized the Art of Surveillance

If you are looking for image quality that is not top notch in the mini spy cameras, then the C-mos based ones are just perfect for you because, although these provide relatively low image quality at a distance, these can provide very good quality images when the object of surveillance is close by and moreover, these are very cheap. However, the mini spy camera that are based on the CCD provide very good quality images even from quite a distance and do not practically emanate any noise at all but the problem with these specific types of mini spy cameras lie in the fact that these are highly expensive.

The range that are covered by the different types of mini spy cameras also vary quite a lot with some being able to pick out images at distances of almost 1000 meters while some others can only pick out images till 300 meters at most. But if you are looking for surveillance in an enclosed area, the mini spy cameras that give images at ranges lower than 300 meters are more or less alright. The frequency of the mini spy cameras are also something that you need to be aware of and these vary as 900 MHz, 1.2 GHz and 2.4 GHz. The frequencies of these mini spy cameras determine the distances over which the images can be transmitted and the more frequency that you have on your camera, the more distance will it cover with ease.

Once you are aware of the technical needs of your mini spy cameras, you can easily walk into a store that sells these and get your hands on a desired piece of equipment. But there are plenty of places where this piece of equipment can be purchased from so making the right choice when it comes to the mini spy cameras provider should not be underestimated.

Rory McIlroy Is the Star of This British Open

Rory McIlroy slipped into his seat without great fanfare Tuesday, his presence detected by a sudden burst of camera shutters when the photographers realized the star of this British Open had arrived. It was his first time at a news conference since that Sunday evening at Congressional, and it all looked familiar except that the 22-year-old from Northern Ireland no longer had the shiny U.S. Open trophy at his side.

In its place were expectations of many more majors to follow, perhaps starting with this one. With a record-setting performance in the major billed as golf’s toughest test, McIlroy has emerged as the favorite to join an elite group of players to capture the U.S. Open and British Open in the same year.Asia Stocks Decline After Weak US Jobs Report.

McIlroy knew it was quite an achievement, setting scoring records at the U.S. Open and winning by eight shots. Only in the three weeks he has spent at home has the magnitude started to sink in.”I didn’t realize how much of a fuss it would create or how much of a buzz,” he said. “It’s been nice. I thought it was great for me to win the U.S. Open, win my first major. The support that I’ve had from people back home, from everyone all over the world, has been pretty overwhelming.”

It was impossible to miss on Tuesday. It almost felt as though Tiger Woods were at the Open, still on top of his game. There were more media in the room waiting for McIlroy than those who actually listened to Luke Donald, who is No. 1 in the world and coming off a four-shot win in the Scottish Open. They stood against every wall in the room and were three-deep at the doorway.”This is what I’ve always wanted to do,” McIlroy said. “I’ve always wanted to be a successful golfer and be one of the best players in the world and to win major championships. If I have to put up with a few things along the way, then I’m fine with that.”

Asia Stocks Decline After Weak US Jobs Report

Asian stock markets fell Monday, dragged by global economic angst after an unexpectedly weak U.S. jobs report and surging inflation in China.Wall Street’s sharp drop before the weekend extended to Asia, where investors digested news that U.S. employers created the fewest number of jobs in nine months. The 18,000 net jobs in created in June were a fraction of what many economists expected and dampened hopes that the economy is improving.

“Economic news in the U.S. was disappointing,” said a Barclays Capital report Monday electronics. “The employment report was weaker than expected across the board — employment, unemployment, hours, and wages all reflected the same worrisome trend.”Japan’s Nikkei 225 stock average lost 0.7 percent to 10,069.53.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng retreated 1.5 percent to 22,382.37, South Korea’s Kospi was down 1.1 percent at 2,157.16 while the Shanghai Composite index edged up 0.3 percent to 2,806.32.Also dragging sentiment in Asia was data released Saturday showing China’s inflation accelerated to a three-year high in June even as the overheated economy began to cool.
